yea... it almost looks like the guy is about to start dragging his stator cover... no bueno.
i guess that's when you know youve gone a bit too far on that bike. lol.
then all the sudden your tires have lost contact completely and you are sliding sideways across the pavement. weeee
i am a fan of the single sided swingarm though.

i am a fan of the single sided swingarm though. That's the valve cover, and they get good lean angles before touching down (there are also sliders on the valve cover). They have a pretty popular endurance racing series

if you were to get the bike down that low, would a slider really help prevent a lowside? I figure as soon as a hard part (like the cover, or the slider attached to the cover) that is directly connected to the motorcycle, that does not offer any leeway, is in contact with the ground, your tires are going to loose traction... I mean, the slider would prevent griding away at metal, however, I would think that it would still act as a lever to hoist the bike off the ground (which in turn would frick up much more than that cute little cover) this is all just speculation on my part, however. as i do not see myself as ever being able to achieve angles like that on any motorcycle.

No one is really crashing in the series because of dragging them, but anytime hard parts touch down you can lever the tires off the ground

If I was gonna spend 25k on a bike I would think I would have enough money to fix it if I wadded it up. so yes I would

Wow I was going to +1 scammer, but 06Rocket gets the +1... if I had the cash, I wouldn't worry about wadding it up either.

I have about that much in my MINI and I'm hitting Barber with it at the next BMW car club trackday. I had one of these $40k beauties pass me several times at the last Barber day (I wasn't taking it easy, either)

I hate seeing nice machines abused, but LOVE seeing them used to their potential. One of the most impressive things I've seen was when I chased these Scuderia's throught the Gap(half a mil worth of cars). It's about the fastest I've ever been through there and definatly the fastest I've seen a car go. I was 20 ft behind and the heat coming out of them was uncomfortable through my leathers I'd hate to wad my MINI, but what's the point of adding the go fsat goodies if I'm not going to see what it can do

i am a fan of the single sided swingarm though. Don't you remember, that bike is essentially my old bike with DOHC and no body... CAR ALTERNATOR. To drag valve cover on these bikes, you would have to lean as far as any other bike does to touch pavement. The motor isn't really all that wide when it comes down to it, it's just exposed to maximize heat dissipation. p.s. An air cooled bike that will put down those numbers is quite impressive! And if I owned one, I would definitely beat the piss out of it.
