was on part of 17, was actually going straight when my front wheel started pitching a fit, got into the death wobble, thought i was gonna be able to save it but then i went into the grass and did a huge drift semi thought i could possibly save that but then i hit the ground and started rolling backwards.....came out without a scratch thanks to my gear

is the cover actually broken/cracked? It may be a $5 gasket instead. My cover is rashed, but the leak was a gasket.

Just a theory.

If you were not going fast and got wobbles, and your tire is not flat or leaking.

1. you hit a rock or object in the road that you did not see and it pitched you.

2. your steering head bearings are wore out. How many miles do you have on it?

Does it have a steering dampner from the factory?

Its not the gasket the cover cracked and splintered on the inside

I had to of hit somthing or slipped on somthing, wasnt the prettiest looking road and i think i hit a bump in it

i mine as well check the barring while im working on it

no damper what so ever

dude im just glad your ok, the bike can be fixed but I kinda like seeing your name pop up on the forum so im really glad you had your gear on. I had my front end get shaky on 459 goin 160 i just killed the throttle and it slowed down and got back in line on its own. I don't know if it was God or damn good luck but something locked my front wheel back straight. Stabilizer bar maybe? If you need any help working on your bike let me know.
I'll figure it out with ya ^^

Thanks bro, Thank God u didnt go down at 160, God knows that would be bad...i really need to get a stabalizer cause sometimes if i just full throttle it itll tend to get shakey

after looking on the internet a bit i think the biggest pain in the ass is gonna be fixing that dam foot peg, i was looking at rear sets and $300+ wtf!!!!
I think ill just come up with some way to get that suker back on there

+1

If you want, let me know what year/model bike you have and I can research cheapest price for rearsets for your bike if you like.

No big deal! Glad you're alright! Thanks for sharing your crash with us. What caused the wobble?

Ok, so I've checked motorcycle-superstore.com, bikebandit.com, indysuperbikes.com, jakewilson.com, shopping.google.com, and various ebay sellers. This is what I came up with:

Harris Performance Rear Sets - $306 - bbandit.com

Woodcraft Rearset Kit Kawasaki ZX6R - $305 - indysuperbikes.com

Try motorcycle junkyards as well.

the problem is that you are probably looking for high performance aftermarket rearsets...
thats why they are all in the 300+ range.

if you dont want to spend that kind of dough, then you should check forums related to your motorcycle, or racing forums (like wera) and see if anyone has any extra stock pegs they are willing to get rid of.

people buy those aftermarket ones and then have their leftover stock ones all the time... you can prob get some used stock ones for pretty cheap off someone if they arent doing anything but collecting dust in a box or something.

rmcmcelroy is on the money. Perhaps another way of getting cheap rearsets is to post WTB on Craigslist.org as well as zx6r boards and kawasaki's forums.

you should have invested in one of those fancy crash proof systems for your motorcycle:
