i just came across a 1991 suzuki bandit 400 on craigslist. i never even knew suzuki made such a bike. i looked around at some pics and kinda like it. (i'm not thinking about buying it, just sayin...)
i'd really like to find an old 400cc sportbike. the vfr400 is friggin pimp but nearly impossible to find (or afford).
anyway, have any of you old guys ever owned or ridden one? they fun? seems like it would be. i wonder if the bandit 400 motor is comparable to the gixxer 400 motor.
discuss...

I had an '89 FZR400 in highschool(damn, does that make me old? ). Loved it and would kill to find another in good shape. Bandit 400's are pretty stout for what they are. Close to 60hp

lol well it depends on when you went to highschool. you're not THAT old...
yeah i don't remember all the different classes, but i seem to remember the old 400's running with new SV650's. your typical SV makes, what...about 70 hp?
you remember what the average 400cc "superbike" horsepower was?

I had my FZR in '92. It was 55ish HP at the wheel if I had to guess. Damn that really cool. I'd buy it if I had the means

I remember those bandits, they were faster than the "GOOSE". Honda also made a cool 400cc bike back then called a CB1.
